Important Rules

  • You must include at least one actual material card in every trick.
  • You cannot complete a trick using only role cards (e.g., Project Manager + Carpenter + Carpenter).
  • Only perform tricks assigned by the AI Foreman. No extras or freelancing!

Scoring

At the end of each round, calculate the score for each player by totaling the numbers on the unplayed cards left in the player's hand.

The player who completes all three tricks for their build gets a score of zero, regardless of what is left in their hand.

The winner of the game is the player with the lowest total score after 3 rounds.

Start with the Build Companion

  • Everyone click "Let's Play," from their own device.
  • One player starts a new game and shares the join code with the other players.
  • Once everyone's joined, the Companion will assign each player a unique build (your 3 resource sets for the round).
  • These assignments are secret—only you will see your build.

Deal everyone 7 cards

  • The remaining deck is placed on the table.
  • Flip the top card and set it beside the deck to start the discard pile.

On your turn

  • Draw one card (from the top of the deck or from the discard pile). NOTE: If drawing from lower in the discard pile, you must use that card immediately in a trick and pick up all cards above it.
  • Lay down a trick if you have one completed.
  • Discard one card from your hand to end your turn.

End of the round

As soon as a player completes all three tricks for their build, the round ends. The winner gets a score of zero, regardless of what is in their hand. Everyone else is over budget. Their score is the total of the unplayed cards left in their hand.

Enter everyone's scores into the Build Companion. The Companion will then assign new builds for Round 2 and Round 3.

Winning the game

After three rounds, the player with the lowest total score wins and earns the title of Hero of the Build!
